Mobiera is a company dedicated to software development. We have two business lines, the first one is software development for our own exploitation through the commercialization of solutions for mobile operators. For example, we help them to grow sales and monetize their data base. The second one, is software development for third parties, mostly pymes or big companies with ideas that have to be formalized.

¿Who could be an ideal customer for Mobiera?

Big groups of operators in any place of the world. It could be here in Latin America, but also in Asia and other continents. In reference to our second business line there are two types of ideal customers. First, they can be local customers here in Colombia who have an idea and want to bring it into a project, this way we can help them from the beginning until the delivery of the project. We are also looking for european clients, since we have 29B110 certification, we can guarantee high quality. This quality is derived from the great skills of Colombian engineers. This allows us to offer quality at a lesser cost, making us very competitive. In addition to this, our company has many people who speak English and French, so we can offer a remote service with the same quality of a local company.

¿Can you think about a client you have particularly liked to work with?

I have a client I particularly like, even though it was hard to get, it is a very good client. I met with a  Vietnamese company called Vietel, owned by the Vietnamese government. At that time they had recently established an operator in Peru, so I went to Peru to meet with them and negotiate. At the end we could use all the solutions for mobile operators with them and we helped them to improve their average expense per month and user from 15% to 20% in six months.

Nowadays we are in Asia thanks to this first contact we made at the World   Mobile Congress

¿What are you looking for from EuropaNetwork?

First, grow our second business line, software development for third parties. Second, I am interested in increasing the network through sharing with other entrepreneurs or people who are part of big companies. Anyways, I also wanna make friendships and enjoy good wine.

¿What made you come to Colombia?

I had an experience in Mexico and I really enjoyed it. Once I was back in Europe I was very used to the latin lifestyle so I wanted to come back to Latin America.  I chose Colombia for many reasons. One time I came here and I really liked how people received me and what I saw. Therefore, I decided to sell my house and come here with my wife and kids and founded Mobiera.

¿Has it been easy to found a company in Colombia?

I have not had any problems here to create the company. I know there could be some issues with the visa as a businessman, but it was easier than nowadays. This is the only aspect, everything else has been easy. Colombian people are very gentle and it is very pleasant to work here in Colombia, I like it. People are happy and the environment at the office is enjoyable. International clients realize this and tell us we have good energy, this has allowed us to get clients.

¿Which advice will you give to a European businessman who wants to come to Colombia?

l will tell him that thanks to the good education we have had in Europe and thanks to the many opportunities here in Colombia, coming and creating locally  is a good opportunity. Anyways, it is important to avoid wasting time doing too much research, because just a small part of it will help you. To sum up, it is better to come, realize how things work and adapt yourself.
